Broth & Rice Dog Topper
Homemade unsalted broth stirred through soft rice, a comforting way to add water and appeal to a dog who has gone off dry food.

Ingredients
- 300 g boneless, skinless chicken thigh
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup cooked white rice
Method
- Simmer the chicken in the water for 30 minutes to make a plain broth.
- Lift the chicken out, chop it finely, and set it aside.
- Stir the cooked rice into 1 cup of the warm broth until it loosens.
- Fold the chopped chicken back in, cool completely, and spoon over your dog's meal.
Storage: Refrigerate up to 3 days, or freeze in cubes for up to 1 month.

Cauliflower & Chicken Light Dog Bowl
Mashed cauliflower stands in for the usual rice or potato, filling the bowl out while keeping the calorie count low.
Prep 10 min · Cook 20 min · About 5 cups

Ingredients
- 400 g boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 4 cups cauliflower florets
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup green peas
Method
- Poach the chicken breast in the water for about 18 minutes, until cooked through.
- Steam the cauliflower for 10 minutes, until soft enough to mash.
- Mash the cauliflower with a little of the poaching liquid.
- Chop the chicken small, fold it through the mash with the peas, and cool before serving.
Storage: Refrigerate up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 1 month.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup white rice, uncooked
- 2 cups water
- 150 g boneless, skinless chicken breast
Method
- Simmer the chicken breast in the water for 20 minutes, then lift it out.
- Cook the rice in the same cooking water for 20 minutes, until very soft.
- Shred the chicken finely and stir it back through the rice.
- Loosen with a little more of the broth, cool fully, and spoon over a meal.

Method

- 2 cups peeled sweet potato, diced
- 1 cup water
Method
- Simmer the diced sweet potato in the water for about 15 minutes, until a fork slides through easily.
- Brown the ground lamb in a dry pan over medium heat until no pink remains, then drain off the fat.
- Mash the sweet potato with a little of its cooking water to make a soft base.
- Fold the drained lamb through the mash and let the mixture cool to room temperature before serving.

- 500 g lean ground pork
- 1 cup plain pumpkin puree
- 1 cup water
Method
- Cook the ground pork in a pan over medium heat, breaking it up as it browns, until cooked right through.
