1. About these terms

Companion Paws Kitchen is a free educational recipe resource operated by Companion Paws Canada. By visiting this website, using our recipes, tools, or ebooks, or creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Educational use and veterinary disclaimer

All recipes, portion suggestions, nutrition estimates, safety notes, and recipe builder results are provided for general educational purposes only. They are not veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and they are not a complete or balanced diet plan for any individual animal.

Always talk to a licensed veterinarian before changing what your pet eats, especially for puppies, kittens, senior pets, pregnant or nursing animals, or pets with allergies, kidney disease, diabetes, pancreatitis, or any other medical condition. If your pet shows signs of illness after eating something, contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital right away.

Nutrition figures shown on the site are rough estimates calculated from general ingredient data. They are not laboratory analyses and should not be relied on for medical or prescription diets.

3. Your responsibility when preparing food

You are responsible for choosing safe ingredients, handling and storing food hygienically, cooking food thoroughly where a recipe calls for it, checking labels for hidden ingredients such as xylitol, onion, or garlic, and serving appropriate portions for your pet's size and needs. Every pet is different, and an ingredient that suits one animal may not suit another.

4. Accounts, favorites, and saved recipes

You may create an account to save favorite recipes, keep recipes written for you by our recipe builder, and compile your own printable ebook. You agree to provide an accurate email address, to keep your password confidential, and to be responsible for activity under your account. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.

Signed in users may be able to add or edit recipe content on the site. If you submit content, you confirm you have the right to share it, and you grant us permission to display, edit, or remove it. We may remove any content that is unsafe, inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate, and we may suspend accounts that misuse the site.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• republish, resell, or redistribute our recipes, photos, or ebooks commercially without written permission;
• scrape, copy, or mirror the site in bulk, or use automated tools to overload it;
• attempt to gain access to accounts, data, or systems that are not yours;
• upload or submit unsafe, harmful, or unlawful content;
• use the site in any way that breaks applicable law.

You are welcome to print, download, and use our recipes and ebooks for your own personal, non-commercial use with your own pets.

6. Intellectual property and trademarks

Companion Paws is a registered trademark. The site name, logo, recipe text, photography, illustrations, page design, and ebook layouts are owned by Companion Paws Canada or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Nothing on this site transfers ownership of these materials to you.

7. Third party links

The site may link to other websites and services we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices, and a link does not mean we endorse them.

8. No warranty and limitation of liability

The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do our best to keep recipes safe, accurate, and reviewed, but we make no warranties that the site will be uninterrupted, error free, or suitable for your particular pet.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Companion Paws Canada and its team, volunteers, and contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for illness, injury, veterinary costs, or other harm arising from your use of the site, our recipes, or our tools. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Changes to the site and these terms

We may add, change, or remove recipes, features, and pages at any time, and we may update these terms. When we update them we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law rules.
