Homemade Chicken Liver Cat Treats

Ingredients

- 2/3 cup chicken liver
- 1 tablespoon catnip optional
- 1/2 cup oat flour
- 1 large egg
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180C/350F degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Rinse the chicken livers tho roughly under cold water to remove any residue.
- Place the chicken livers, egg, oat flour and catnip in a food processor. Puree until the mixture is smooth.
- Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and smooth out evenly.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the mixture is firm.
- Allow to cool then using a knife or pizza cutter, cut into small bite sized shapes. Cats prefer small, easy-to-chew pieces.
- Store in an air tight container and give as an occasional treat.
Substitutions
- Replace chicken liver with beef or turkey liver.
- Use rice flour as an alternative to oat flour.
- Add a teaspoon of fish oil for extra fatty acids.
