Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken feet
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil or other dog friendly oil
Steps
- Trim the chicken feet if the toe nails are still on them. Wash and clean the feet.
- Drain the chicken feet and pat dry.
- Preheat the air fryer according to the manufacturers instructions.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil.
- Place the chicken feet in a single layer and spray with oil.
- Use the dehydrate function if available. If not, set the lowest possible temperature, ideally between 140-170°F (around 60-77°C).
- Start with a longer time, like 6-12 hours, checking periodically.
- Allow to cool before giving out the crunchy treat.
- Do NOT exceed 150°F (65°C) to prevent the bones from cooking and becoming brittle and splintery.
