Ingredients

Ingredients for Apple Banana Dog Treats
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup finely grated apple
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups rice flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl mash the banana until smooth. Add the egg, peanut butter, and grated apple, stirring until combined.
  3. Sprinkle in the cinnamon and gradually mix in the rice flour until a dough forms.
  4. Lightly flour a clean surface with rice flour. Roll the dough to about ¼-inch thickness. Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter (or any shape you prefer) to cut out treats.
  5. Place the cutouts onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the treats are firm and golden brown.
  6. Let the treats cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or in the fridge for longer freshness.

Substitutions

  • Use pumpkin puree instead of banana
  • Swap rice flour for whole wheat flour
