Ingredients

Ingredients for Apple Cinnamon Doggie Donuts
  • 1 1/2 cups rice flour
  • 1 large apple
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup apple sauce
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a donut pan or use silicone molds.
  2. Peel and grate the apple.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together rice flour and cinnamon.
  4. In a bowl the egg, apple cider vinegar, applesauce and melted coconut oil. Stir until smooth.
  5. Add the grated apple to the wet ingredient mixture.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until well combined. If the dough is too dry, add some water.
  7. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about ¾ full.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until firm to the touch.
  9. Cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week, or freeze for longer storage.

Substitutions

  • Use pear sauce instead of applesauce
  • Swap coconut oil for melted butter
  • Use oat flour for a different texture
