Apple Peanut Butter Dog Treats
This classic combination provides a balance of healthy fats and fiber. The rice flour base makes them a good choice for dogs with wheat sensitivities.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup apple sauce
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup rice flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the applesauce, peanut butter, egg, and cinnamon. Stir until well blended and work into a dough.
- Roll out the dough in between two sheets of parchment paper to about 6 mm (¼ inch) thick. Use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes, or simply cut into small squares.
- Place the treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden and firm.
- Let the treats cool completely on a wire-rack before giving them to your dog.
Substitutions
- Use mashed butternut squash instead of applesauce
- Swap rice flour for coconut flour
- Use cashew butter instead of peanut butter
