Ingredients

- 1 cup oat flour
- 1/2 cup coconut flour
- 1/4 cup apple sauce
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 2 medium apples
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon apple sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and place 7 silicon muffin liners in a muffin pan.
- In a medium mixing bowl, mix 1 cup of oat flour and ½ cup of coconut flour.
- Stir in ¼ cup of applesauce, 1 egg, and 2 tablespoons of oil. Mix until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add a small amount of water, 1 teaspoon at a time, until it comes together.
- Cut the dough into 7 pieces and press the dough into the silicon muffin cases.
- Peel, core, and chop the 2 apples into small pieces.
- In a small saucepan, combine the chopped apples, 2 tablespoons of water, 1 tablespoon of applesauce, and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon. Cook over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft but not mushy.
- Let the filling cool slightly before spooning it into the prepared pie crusts.
- Spoon the apple mixture into the crust, spreading it evenly.
- If you reserved some dough, cut it into strips and arrange them in a lattice pattern over the filling, or place a smaller rolled-out piece of dough on top.
- Place the pies in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
- Let the apple pies cool to room temperature before giving it to your dog.
Substitutions
- Use pumpkin for the filling
- Swap coconut oil for olive oil
- Use rice flour for the crust
