Ingredients

- 2 bananas, ripe but firm
Steps
- Peel the bananas and slice them into thin, even slices (about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick). Thinner slices will crisp more.
- Place the banana slices in a single layer on the air fryer tray or basket. Ensure they don't overlap.
- Set the air fryer to 250°F (120°C).
- Air fry for 45-60 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through. Check frequently towards the end to prevent burning. They should be dry and slightly crispy.
- Allow the chips to cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
- Set the oven to 225°F (110°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Lay the banana slices in a single layer without overlapping.
- Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, flipping the slices halfway through.
- Check frequently during the last 30 minutes to avoid overcooking. The chips should be dry and slightly crispy.
- Let the chips cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
Substitutions
- Use firm pears instead of bananas
- Try apple slices with seeds removed
