Ingredients

Ingredients for Breath Freshening Dog Treats
  • 2 cups oat flour
  • 1/2 cup fresh fennel fronds
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup apple sauce

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Finely chop the herbs.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add the chopped herbs, egg, coconut oil and apple sauce.
  4. Add the oat flour and stir to mix a dough. Add more flour if the mixture is too sticky.
  5. Roll out the dough in between two layers of parchment paper or on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness and cut into shapes, or roll small balls and flatten slightly.
  6. Place treats on the baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until firm and lightly golden.
  7. Allow treats to cool completely before serving to your pup.

Substitutions

  • Replace mint with extra parsley.
  • Use pear sauce instead of applesauce.
  • Rice flour can replace oat flour.
