Ingredients

Ingredients for Butternut Squash Coconut Flour Dog Treats
  • 1/4 cup butternut squash puree
  • 1 cup coconut flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 banana, ripe

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the banana with the eggs.
  3. Add the coconut flour and butternut squash and mix well until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough in between two sheets of parchment paper ¼ inch thick.
  5. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes or simply use a knife to cut the dough into squares or rectangles.
  6. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown and firm to the touch.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
  9. Give out as treats and store in an airtight container.

Substitutions

  • Swap butternut squash for pumpkin puree.
  • Use sweet potato instead of banana.
  • Almond flour can replace coconut flour.
