Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups oat flour
- 1/4 cup apple sauce
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup chopped apple
- 1/4 cup cranberries
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with silicone cases or grease well with coconut oil.
- Add the oat flour, apple sauce, egg and coconut oil in a large mixing bowl. Work together to make a dough. If the dough is too dry, add a small amount of water, 1 teaspoon at a time, until it comes together.
- Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface and cut into circles to fit your muffin tin or into shapes for a free-form style.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the coconut oil.
- Sauté the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.
- Stir in the cinnamon, ginger, chopped apples, and cranberries. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the apples soften slightly.
- Cool slightly and spoon the mixture into a food processor and blend until smooth.
- Place the pastry circles in the muffin tin or press the pastry into the tin.
- Fill each pastry with a spoonful of the beef mixture. If desired, top with a small pastry shape for decoration.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and firm to the touch.
- Let the mince pies cool completely before serving to your dog. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Substitutions
