Ingredients

Ingredients for Halloween Dog Treats
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the pumpkin purée, coconut oil, rice flour and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. If the dough is too dry, add more pumpkin puree. If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle a little extra rice flour.
  4. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thick. Use a heart shape cookie cutter to cut out shapes.
  5. Cut the heart shape in half lengthways. Gently shape the head and pinch the tail to the side.
  6. Use the tip of a small piping nozzle to cut out the eyes and the other end to cut out the mouths.
  7. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until the cookies are firm.
  8. Allow the treats to cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

Substitutions
