Ingredients

Ingredients for Homemade Dog Breath Treats
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 1/3 cup Greek yogurt, plain
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 3/4 cup coconut flour
  • 1 large egg

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the coconut flour, parsley, and mint.
  3. Add the egg, coconut oil and Greek yogurt to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, gradually add water until the consistency is workable.
  4. Roll out the dough in between two layers of parchment paper to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  5. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the treats are golden brown and crisp.
  7. Allow the treats to cool completely on a wire rack before storing.

Substitutions

  • Use plain kefir instead of Greek yogurt.
  • Replace coconut flour with almond flour.
  • Substitute mint with extra parsley if preferred.
