Ingredients

Ingredients for Homemade Tuna Dog Treats
  • 7 oz tuna canned in water
  • 3 medium eggsincluding their shells
  • 1/2 cup ground flaxseed
  • 1/2 cup coconut flour

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 190C/350F degrees.
  2. Drain the tinned tuna from the water.
  3. Place all the ingredients into a food processor and blitz until smooth.
  4. Remove from the processor and firm into a dough. You may need to add more coconut flour.
  5. Roll out in between two layers of parchment paper to about 1 cm thick.
  6. Using a cookie cutter cut out the cookies.
  7. Place the cookies on a parchment paper lined baking tray.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes until golden, flipping over half-way through baking.
  9. Allow to cool before giving out a treat!

Substitutions

  • Use canned salmon or sardines instead of tuna.
  • Substitute coconut flour with almond flour.
  • Omit eggshells if using a separate calcium supplement.
