Ingredients

- 1 large sweet potato
- 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/2 lb lean ground lamb
- 1/2 cup grated carrot
- 1 cup finely chopped broccoli
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
Steps
- Peel and chop the sweet potato into small cubes. Boil or steam the sweet potato cubes until soft (about 10-15 minutes).
- Mash the cooked sweet potato with a fork or potato masher until smooth. Add the Cheddar cheese and mix. Set aside.
- Add the coconut oil to a medium skillet and cook the ground lamb until fully browned. Break up the meat as it cooks to ensure it's evenly browned.
- Stir in the grated carrot and finely chopped broccoli and cook for 3-5 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the egg and parsley. Mix well.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with silicone muffin liners (or greased paper muffin liners).
- Spoon the lamb mixture into the muffin tin, pressing gently to pack it in.
- Add the sweet potato mash on top.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and firm to the touch.
- Remove the mini pies from the oven, and allow to cool. Remove the silicone muffin liners and serve.
- Serve one portion at a time, based on your dog’s size and dietary needs.
Substitutions
- Ground beef or turkey instead of lamb
