Ingredients

Ingredients for Pumpkin Carrot Dog Treats
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups oat flour

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup pumpkin purée, ½ cup grated carrot, and 1 egg. Stir until smooth.
  3. Gradually add 2 cups oat flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. If too sticky, add a little more oat flour; if too dry, add a splash of water.
  4. Scoop out the mixture (we use a tablespoon measure for this) and form into balls. Place them on the prepared baking tray. Flatten the balls slightly with the back of a spoon or your hand.
  5. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until firm and lightly golden.
  6. Allow treats to cool fully on a wire rack before serving or storing. For a firmer treat, cool in the oven.
  7. Serve as a treat.

Substitutions

  • Use shredded parsnip instead of carrot
  • Substitute oat flour with brown rice flour
