Ingredients

Ingredients for Salmon Blueberry Treats For Dogs
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked salmon
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 blueberries
  • 1/2 cup oat flour

Steps

  1. Poach or bake the fresh salmon, with the skins removed.
  2. Place the cooked salmon, egg and blueberries in a food processor or blender. Blend until combined.
  3. Spoon the mixture into a medium mixing bowl and stir in the oat flour gradually until the mixture forms a dough.
  4. Roll or press the dough out on a lightly floured surface and cut into shapes, or simply scoop small spoonfuls onto the tray.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper or silicone mat.
  6. Place the tray in the oven bake for 15-20 minutes, or until firm and lightly golden. Flip over half way through cooking.
  7. Cool completely before serving to your dog.
  8. Preheat your air fryer to 330°F (165°C).
  9. Place the treats in a single layer in the air fryer basket, don’t overcrowd them.
  10. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the treats are firm and lightly golden.
  11. Cool completely on a wire rack before serving or storing.
  12. _Tip:_ For a crunchier texture, air fry for an additional 2-3 minutes and let the treats cool in the basket with the heat off.
  13. Preheat your dehydrator to 135°F (57°C).
  14. Mix and shape the dough as above, small discs or bite-sized pieces work best.
  15. Arrange the treats evenly on the dehydrator trays, leaving space for air circulation.
  16. Dehydrate for 6-8 hours, or until the treats are dry and slightly crisp.
  17. Cool completely before transferring to an airtight container.
  18. _Tip:_ Dehydrated treats will last longer, up to 2 weeks in the fridge or 3 months in the freezer, making them perfect for bulk prepping healthy dog snacks!
